"Ready2Move?" Video Contest Launches April 1, 2009
ForRent.com's video contest was such a success last year, driving a 57% increase in direct navigation to ForRent.com and a 20.1% boost in college-age visitors to ForRent.com, so we decided to do it again this year.
This year's "Ready2Move?" consumer promotion asks apartment seekers to tell ForRent.com why they are ready to move, for a chance to win $10,000. Users can also vote for their favorite video for a chance to win $1,500. Entrants can log on to the contest site between April 1 and May 27 to submit their video. The contest will generate a significant amount of traffic to ForRent.com, ultimately bringing more awareness to the properties on the site, which in turn converts into qualified LEADSTM. The contest encourages apartment seekers and renters to create an original video that is 60 seconds long or less. Entrants can turn their video into a mini commercial by adding a ForRent.com "Ready2Move?" closing billboard to the end of their creation. The billboard will be provided on the details page.
This year, in addition to the contest micro-site, visitors can stay connected to the contest through the "Ready2Move?" Facebook application. The Facebook application will have essentially all the same features as the video contest micro-site with the added benefit of Facebook integration, such as not having to register as a member. After the user allows access to the application, "[User name] may be Ready2Move and win $10,000 in cash with ForRent.com" will appear on the users wall and news feed with a link pointing back to the application.
